‘Enjoy the Day with Thomas’

"Well, bust my buffers!" That well known cheeky engine will be paying a visit to the North Norfolk Railway once again in 2016! Why don't you come and join Thomas and other really useful engines for a day of family fun at our friendly railway? Thomas will be working hard whilst he's here, so be sure to come and show your appreciation for everyone's favourite engine!

Minty’s Whizzy Windmills

Bewilderwood’s special May Bank holiday weekend event centres on Minty, the littlest Crocklebog who loves flowers and just adores things that spin around. Help design a charming garden full of windmills and watch them whirl. There is also storytelling, plus boat rides across Scaaaary Lake, whizzing down Wobbly Wires and getting befuddled in the marvellous Mudlde Maze.

Your first chances to climb one of Norfolk’s most famous landmarks are on offer this weekend. As always, for safety reasons children must be at least 1m tall.

 

Gressenhall Goes Wild

Become a nature detective and search for Gressenhall’s wild side from the woods to the river this Bank Holiday Monday. Discover the hidden side of the farm with the help of nature watch cameras. Find out what delicious things can be found growing wild in gardens and hedgerows with Debby from Pickled Lilly. There will also be nature inpsired art and children’s activities.

Stock Car Racing

Thrills, spills, crashes and smashes mean a trip to Yarmouth Stadium is a must for all young petrolheads. This May Bank Holiday meeting includes national banger racing and stock cars racing around the oval track.

 

Maytime Medley - Thorpe Market

 St Margaret’s Church in Thorpe Market, is hosting a "Maytime Medley" from Friday 29th April to Monday 2nd May.

It will include art and photographs, together with a range of handmade gifts, greeting cards and more.

There will also be a wide selection of used books for sale, as well as tea, coffee and a selection of cakes. Entrance is free and the artists will be on hand throughout the exhibition. There is ample parking opposite the church. Opening hours 11am-4pm each day.

 

Wighton Scarecrow Festival

Sat 30th Apr 2016 - Mon 2nd May 2016

 The annual Wighton Scarecrow Festival takes place this Bank Holiday Weekend from Saturday to Monday.

 It's a free event (donations always gratefully received in the buckets) and that there will be refreshments in village hall on each day.

The Children’s Scarecrow Making Competition will take place on the Common at 2.30 on Sunday; There are prizes for the first three places.

 There will be a tractor & trailer to pick-up visitors arriving at Wighton Halt (by the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway) to take them for a tour round the village and return to the halt on both Saturday & Sunday (again this is free, but donations welcome).

Parking in the village is free (but please be careful not to block drives)...and watch out Live Scarecrows About!
